Born and raised in Southern Ohio, I understand the value of hard work and common-sense solutions. I was a paperboy, Eagle Scout and attended The Ohio State University. I now reside in Columbus with my wife, Karen, and our children, Sarah and Sam. I currently am serving my third term in Congress, where I am a member of the House Financial Services and Rules Committes.
Prior to running for Congress, I served in the Ohio Senate and, before that, worked in the private sector in the banking industry. I am a career soldier, and have served more than 30 years in the Ohio Army National Guard, where I hold the rank of Colonel. I served the United States overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom, leading 400 soldiers and contractors. I am very proud that each and every one returned home safely.
Throughout my career, I have worked to lead the way supporting programs and initiatives to encourage job creation, promote economic development, and to help Ohio families. In Congress, I have continued my focus on job growth and getting government spending under control. From hosting my annual job fair and introducing legislation to improve our business climate and create jobs, to sponsoring a Balanced Budget amending, I have made it my priority to take action on the most pressing issues facing our nation today.
It is an honor to represent the people of Ohio’s 15th District, and I will work hard every day, to make you proud.
